Kelimutu tour will visit Kelimutu lake which has three colors lake which is close to the small town of Moni about 50 km to the east of Ende, Indonesia in central Flores Island of Indonesia. Kelimutu is one of the mountains listed of thousands in Indonesia which are mountains in Indonesia which are more than 1,000 meters high.

Kelimutu National Park is the smallest national park of six National Parks in Bali and Nusa Tenggara. Here there are three lakes located on top of Mount Kelimutu, three lakes have the same name and popularly known as the Lake Kelimutu. Each lake has colors and their meanings. The three lakes are believed to be the abode of spirits and also believed to have a very powerful force of nature. To reach the lake, you can start from Moni, a small town which is the backpacker.

Scientifically discoloration Kelimutu is a factor of mineral deposits, moss and rocks in the crater and also the influence of sunlight. Scientists believe that the lake was formed from volcano eruptions in ancient times. Kelimutu Lake is part of the National Park Kelimutu. The highest point of the park is located at 5.679 feet Kelibara mountain (1.731 meters) and Mount Kelimutu feet or as high as 5.544 (1.690 meters). Kelimutu National Park is home to around 19 species of endangered birds.

Local people believe that the lake is where the souls of the dead rest. Kelimutu area surrounded by forests that covered a variety of plants that are rarely found elsewhere on Flores. Besides pine trees, there are also ferns, plant genus Casuarina, redwood and edelweiss flowers.

KELIMUTU TOUR ITINERARY

Tour Day 1: Denpasar (Bali) - Maumere (Central Flores) - Moni
We will meet and greet you at the hotel in Bali, then transfer to the airport to catch your flight for Maumere of central Flores island. Upon arrival at Waioti airport of Maumere, proceed to the local restaurant for lunch. Afterward driving heading to the westward of the island through the picturesque area surrounded by mountainous. Early evening we arrive in Moni (the village located down the hill of Kelimutu). Dinner and overnight at local Guest House.

Tour Day 2: Moni - Kelimutu Lake- Maumere
Wake up at approximately 04.30am, your guide and driver will take you up to the top Mount Kelimutu. It will take about 45 minutes to drive. Upon arrival. walk 1,5km from the park to viewpoint of the spectacular lakes Hard Red, light blue and black color. Please be aware, although this is open for visitors, we recommend you to respect every guideline explained by the local guide. This is one of the most secret lakes on the island, and it believed to be resting place for the entire ancestor spirit of Lio tribe. Drive down to your lodge for breakfast and shower. In the noon drive to Jopu Ranggase to visit one of the old traditional house with some ornament and secret symbols God manifestation. Lunch served at local restaurant in Moni. In the afternoon, drive to Maumere. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Maumere.

Tour Day 3: Maumere - City Sightseeing - Denpasar (Bali)
After breakfast at the hotel, a short excursion by visiting local market of Maumere. Transfer to the airport to catch your flight return to Denpasar (Bali). Upon arrival in Bali, we will drop you back at the original hotel.
