Denpasar - Bali earned foreign exchange of 8.71 million dollars from the delivery of handicrafts made from silver during the five month period from January to May 2013, an increase of 1.64 percent over the same period the previous year at 8.57 million U.S. dollars.
"For volume fell 31.84 percent from 2.94 million units (pcs) in the first five months of 2012 to 2,004 million units in the same period in 2013," said the Head of Public Relations of the Provincial Government of Bali I Ketut Teneng in Denpasar, on Saturday.
He said it shows the various types of jewelry and souvenirs made from silver which penetrate foreign markets it is more expensive per unit.

Following the Hong Kong market 17.93 percent, 13.09 percent of the United States, Australia 14.43 percent, Japan 0.18 percent, France 0.34 percent, 8.10 percent Dutch, English and German 1.86 percent 2.01 percent.
The remaining 13.23 percent through many other countries, so the silver is able to contribute 4.02 percent of Bali's total exports amounted to 216.92 million U.S. dollars.
Ketut Teneng added, souvenirs from raw material silver which penetrate beyond the market is one of the 17 types of handicrafts home industry that is able to penetrate the global market.
Silver exports depends on the situation overseas market, in addition to foreign tourists to visit the island.
Teneng Ketut explained, Bali as a tourist destination that receives 2.8 million tourists visit each year is one of the potential market for small industrial and handicraft, including crafts from raw material silver.
