Football Federation Australia (FFA) has officially joined the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) as adopted unanimously by the 11 members of the AFF AFF Extraordinary Congress in Dili, East Timor, Monday (08/26/2013).
"Football Federation Australia are honored to enter into the ASEAN Football Federation. We hope to be an active member and contribute to the development and success of soccer in our region," said FFA Secretary General and CEO, David Gallop on the official site.
Secretary General of the AFF, Azzuddin Ahmad, said he was happy Australia could join the ASEAN region. He hopes, AFF could increase cooperation with Australia to South East Asian football can develop better.
Meanwhile, the AFC Vice President and member of the FIFA executive, Moya Dodd added, "This could be seen as the final piece in Austalia integration into AFC.
