Indonesia is Very Potential for MICE Business |

MICE (Meeting,
Incentive,
Convention,
and Exhibition) potential developed in Indonesia. In 2013
MICE contribute 40 percent of the number of tourist arrivals and Hopes in 2019 the number of foreign tourists reached 20-25 million and 275 domestic tourists trips.
Indonesia with a number of natural tourist destinations, nautical, and the mountain had major capital that is capable of making this country a paradise MICE world. But the problem, a special convention and exhibition in Indonesia still has limitations. The limitations related to the availability of capacity MICE over 6 thousand people who only exist in Jakarta and Bali as a destination that is most ready. Meanwhile, Surabaya, Medan, Manado, Makassar, Bandung, Solo and Yogyakarta is still considered a potential destination. Padang, Batam, Bintan, Palembang, Semarang, Balikpapan, and Lombok is still considered an emerging destination or is the process of growth.
On the other hand, efforts continue to be made by increasing the MICE tourism businesses through government encouragement to the event such as the Tour de Singkarak, Bintan Triathlon, Tour de Bintan, Jakarta Marathon, Jember Fashion Carnival, Musi Triboatton, Batik Carnival, and the Tour de Ijen.
The problem becomes a barrier MICE infrastructure. Indonesia as the MICE market is very good, especially in the 20 years the exhibition industry is growing rapidly. We hope that the next president to give special attention to the MICE by forming a special agency to handle, namely Indonesia Convention and Exhibition Bureau who will provide support and facilities for the development of the MICE industry.
