Jasri village, Cull 138 villages of 29 provinces, in Karangasem regency, Bali province elected as the best tourist village in 2013. This year, as many as 980 villages in Indonesia received a grant of Rp 123.25 billion and next year the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will distribute grants to 2000 villages.
Minister of Tourism and Economy Mari Elka Pangestu said that the best tourist village can be a model for other tourist village in Indonesia. This tourist village selection is an effort to create a standard tourist village in Indonesia this year is not only judged by the administration and report the grants but also involves other elements, especially seeing the effectiveness of the use of funds and job creation.
Jasri village located between Candidasa and Garden Sukasada Edge, exactly is in Subangan, Karangasem regency. Facing a beautiful beach on the eastern coast of Bali, the tourist village is approximately 70 km east of Denpasar.
Besides having beautiful natural scenery and traditional life, Jasri village also featuring arts and cultural performances are interesting. The village has an ancient tradition called ter-teran or flame war that is rarely found anywhere else on the island of Bali. The tradition is carried out every year, the day before Nyepi which symbolizes homage to the demons of Bhuta Kala so they will not interfere with people's lives.
In the ter-teran ritual, two groups facing each other in a thrilling bout using sleep (torch) made ​​of dried palm leaves measuring 80 centimeters.
