Kelud and Float Holy Ritual Offerings |

Regardless of the eruption of the volcano, located on the border between Kediri, Blitar and Malang, there are a customary ritual is always done in the crater of Mount Kelud which float offerings.
The traditional ceremony which is held every month suro Sugihwaras usually held in the Village, District Ngancar, Kediri.
According to local stories, float an offering intended to reject the oath reinforcements Calf Goddess Kilisuci Suro who cheated. But for Hindus alone, this sacred ritual is held as a form of gratitude to Sang Hyang Widhi, and also the form of respect for the ruler Kelud.
The traditional ceremony attended by many people, especially the Hindus of Bali, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Semarang. Starting at 10:00 am and ends at 13.00, this is one of the cultural traditions that suck the attention of many people who live around Kediri Kediri and also outside.
Originally, the event was held in the crater float an offering Kelud, but due to the location of the crater that is now a stone, which is now called child Kelud, this ritual is held only at the edge of the crater.
There are a variety of offerings that were brought in this sacred ritual, ranging from rice, vegetables, side dishes, and fruits. In float an offering ritual, the locals usually carry two cone types, namely white and yellow rice cone . Cone was fitted with a variety of side dishes, such as eggs, tofu , tempeh, ointment, grated coconut sambal and much more. Interestingly, all of the offerings was decorated and arranged in such a way so that it looks beautiful.
All meals are taken by residents then gathered in the middle. They sat down together, while listening to the prayers indigenous stakeholders. When finished praying, they will flock fighting traditional offerings of food, agricultural products, vegetables and fruits.
