Nelson Mandela's Health is Unstable Lately |

Nelson Mandela was rushed back to the hospital because of a lung infection. He is in a "serious but stable condition," said South African President, Jacob Zuma, on Saturday (8/6).
"Over the last few days, lung infections former President Nelson Mandela relapse again," President Jacob Zuma's office said in a statement. "This morning, around 1:30 pm (or 6:30 pm) condition deteriorated and he was rushed to the hospital Pretoria. He is in serious but stable condition," the statement said.
It was the second time in this year's anti-apartheid hero a weakened condition was rushed to hospital. Mandela turns 95 years old in July. On April 6, he was discharged from hospital after being treated for pneumonia for 10 days.
Nobel Peace Prize winner had been hospitalized four times in half a year, primarily related to the problem in his chest. In December 2012, he was hospitalized for 18 days due to a lung infection and for gallstone surgery. Care for nearly three weeks it is the longest since he was released from prison in 1990 for 27 years.
Mandela has not been seen in public since the World Cup final in 2010, when he appeared on the pitch before kick-off.
After treatment in April, the television broadcast showed weak Mandela visited in his home by ANC leaders sparked outrage and accusations that the party was exploiting Mandela conditions.
